The Great Tatsby

If Gatsby got a tattoo it would be a daisy or something that symbolizes where Gatsby met/last saw Daisy. For the past five years Gatsby has been completely devoted to Daisy and determined to win her back. He hasn't stopped loving her and his tattoo would be something that represents his affection to her. Gatsby's tattoo would be either on his chest or back near his heart.

"He knew that when he kissed this girl, and forever wed his unutterable visions to her perishable breath, his mind would never romp again like the mind of God."

Past Blogger

Gatsby wants to repeat the past so that he can be with Daisy again. He wants to go back to before he was sent overseas and before Daisy had met Tom. A few years ago they were together and were happy, but now Daisy's marriage to Tom complicates things. Gatsby and Daisy love each other but Gatsby wants more than to be just someone she is having an affair with. He wants her to leave Tom and admit that she never loved him, and be with him from now on. You can repeat the past by doing the same thing again, or by falling back into past habits. I would only repeat certain events that happened in the past, but overall I wouldn't want to repeat the entire past.

He anxiously waited in his seat, tapping his foot against the floor without stopping. He could feel his heart beating rapidly, as if it was going to burst out of his chest. It felt as if he had been sitting there for days, instead of just a few hours. He waited for his moment as they called each name one by one. His shirt clung to his back, as sweat dripped down his forehead. Finally it was time. He stood up nervously, and starting walking towards the stage. He felt like running, wanting to hold it in his hands as soon as possible. But he forced himself to walk as normally as possible, praying not to fall in front of hundreds of people and their cameras. As he walked up the steps, he was temporarily blinded from the flash of all the cameras. As they called his name, he slowly made his way across the stage, to shake the Director's hand. They handed him his diploma, and the biggest smile broke out on his face. His eyes stung from happiness, and tears slowly spilled from his eyes and down his cheeks.

Modernist or Classicist?

I would choose to live in the Modernist period because I like the idea of helping people to change their lives for the better. Modernism caused people to question their actions and values, and change how they see the world. The Modernist period seems more honest and open, because it challenges people to see things from a different perspective. It also alllowed more room for expression and more possibilites for how writers could express themselves in many different ways.
